There is a strong sequential relationship of courses in landscape architecture. Courses are required to be taken in the order shown on the curriculum flow chart which can be obtained by contacting the department. If a sequence is not initiated at the proper time you may miss a prerequisite course and not be able to continue with the next courses in the sequence. This could result in your being held up for as long as a year. Recent high school graduates (non-transfer students) should plan to follow the curriculum flow chart exactly as it is presented.
Transfer students can assume that placement in the landscape architecture curriculum will occur at the second year level if prerequisite requirements are met. A minimum of 50 transferable units of General Education courses, or AA certification, must have been completed for entering the landscape architecture curriculum at the second year level. Credit for landscape architecture course work is determined through a review of examples of previous work at either the summer or fall orientation sessions on campus. The department does not have a portfolio requirement for transfer students at this time. Go to the Transfer Student Curriculum web page for more information.
Beginning with the 2009-2010 academic year, all students in the Landscape Architecture Department have faculty advisors assigned to groups of students based alphabetically by last name as shown in the table below.
New students should make a "get acquainted" appointment with their advisor as soon as possible.
